Structural Engineer 6-Month Contract | -38-43 per hour | Potential Extension
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a busy local authority in Buckinghamshire on an initial 6-month contract. This position has been approved through an established business case and offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects that have a direct impact on the local community.
Working across two engineering teams, you will provide structural engineering expertise across a range of projects, supporting delivery where resources are most needed. This role offers excellent variety and exposure to both development-led and highways-related infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering support across multiple project teams.
• Design, assess and review a range of structures associated with highways and development projects.
• Contribute to bridge construction, bridge assessment and maintenance schemes.
• Support the delivery of new developments and associated infrastructure works.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical advice in line with local authority standards and processes.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles and infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on highways structures and associated civil engineering schemes.
• Ability to manage and prioritise work across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

• Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE, MICE or equivalent).
• Bridge design, inspection or assessment experience.
• Previous experience delivering projects within a local authority environment.
• Knowledge of development infrastructure and highways approvals processes.
