Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: -45,000 - -65,000 (depending on experience)

The Role
A well-established consultancy based in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of projects across infrastructure, commercial, and residential sectors.

This position offers a strong balance of technical delivery, project management, and team support. You''ll take ownership of projects from early-stage ground investigation through to detailed design, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the wider growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing geotechnical projects from inception to completion
• Designing foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks solutions
• Producing and reviewing interpretative geotechnical reports
• Overseeing and specifying ground investigations
• Carrying out geotechnical analysis (e.g. slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity)
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
• Assisting with project planning, resourcing, and commercial aspects

Requirements

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field
• 5-10+ years'' UK consultancy experience
• Strong technical background in geotechnical design and analysis
• Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
• Good understanding of UK standards, including Eurocodes
• Full UK driving licence
