Water Hygiene / Maintenance Engineer (L8 Qualified)

Location: Site-Based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
Required Qualification: L8 Water Management / Water Hygiene Experience

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Water Hygiene / Maintenance Engineer to support the on-site Hard Services team. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of engineering services, maintaining compliance with water hygiene regulations, and supporting the overall maintenance operation across the site.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building services maintenance, water management compliance, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Hard Services team and provide engineering support across the site.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks in line with statutory regulations and site procedures.
  • Manage water hygiene activities in accordance with L8 requirements, including monitoring, inspections, testing, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure specialist contractors complete service visits efficiently, inspecting completed works and reporting recommendations to management.
  • Accurately complete work orders and maintenance records using the Corrigo CAFM system.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with risk management procedures, including MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs where required.
  • Complete weekly reports detailing significant events, maintenance activities, and compliance matters.
  • Participate in Health & Safety initiatives, including hazard reporting, near-miss reporting, and toolbox talks.
  • Liaise with management regarding the procurement of M&E components and materials required for remedial works.
  • Take ownership of plant rooms and engineering areas, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard at all times.
  • Ensure all allocated work orders are acknowledged, completed, and closed within agreed SLAs.
  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused service to the client and site stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • L8 Water Hygiene / Water Management experience.
  • Experience within building maintenance, facilities management, or hard services environments.
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements, statutory regulations, and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience using CAFM systems such as Corrigo or similar.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Proactive, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Comfortable working under pressure while delivering quality service within set timeframes.
