And we''re only just getting started.About the RoleWe''re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to be a technical authority within our data engineering team, helping to shape and evolve our data platform to support Zego''s growth.This is a hands-on technical role—designing and building scalable, resilient, and secure data systems, while mentoring and guiding other engineers. You will collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Product teams to ensure our data infrastructure is efficient, reliable, and scalable for future needs.While this role does not involve direct line management, fostering technical excellence by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and coaching is expected.What you will be doingTechnical Leadership and MentorshipAct as a senior technical reference point for the Data Engineering team.Mentor and coach other engineers, supporting their technical growth and delivery of high-quality work.Promote best practices in data engineering, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code.Platform and ArchitectureDesign, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines, warehouses, and streaming systems.Ensure data is modeled and structured to meet analytics, data science, and operational needs.Contribute to the evolution of our data architecture to support current and future business requirements.Collaboration and DeliveryPartner with teams across the business to understand requirements and develop robust technical solutions.Identify opportunities for optimization, re-architecture, or tool improvements.Contribute to the technical roadmap for data engineering.About YouYou''re a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and helping others excel. You bring technical depth, a pragmatic mindset, and a collaborative approach.What You Bring:5+ years as a Data Engineer working on scalable data platforms, preferably in high-growth environments.Proven expertise in designing, building, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data architectures.Hands-on experience with modern data stacks including Python, SQL, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, AWS S3, PostgresDB, Airflow, dbt, Apache Spark, deployed via AWS, Docker, and Terraform.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business value.Experience supporting the growth of other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.A pragmatic problem-solving approach balancing technical excellence and delivery.Nice to Have:Experience with Data Mesh or Lakehouse architectures.Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and real-time streaming technologies like Kafka or Kinesis.Exposure to ML pipelines or MLOps frameworks.What it''s like to work at ZegoJoining Zego is a career-defining move.
