Role Overview

London Gatwick is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our dynamic Construction team at the world''s most efficient single-runway airport. You will play a key role in delivering our ambitious infrastructure investment plan-designing, developing, and enhancing airport facilities to meet current and future demands.

As a Project Engineer, you will lead the design of projects (typically up to -25m) or support senior colleagues on more complex schemes. You will ensure designs meet project requirements, deliver value for money, and maintain progress against agreed schedules, managing both internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead and manage the design process for assigned projects.

• Develop project scope and contribute to the business case.

• Prepare design briefs and manage external design consultants.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, seeking safe and cost-effective solutions.

• Oversee design progress, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.

• Coordinate with the Construction Management Team to ensure on-site delivery matches approved designs.

• Proven track record in project design and engineering management.

• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and standards.

• Experience managing consultants and contractors.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
