Distribution and Planning Manager

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum DOE

Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Location: Mid Kent

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are working with an established and expanding business to appoint a commercially minded and hands-on Distribution and Planning Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be confident overseeing day-to-day distribution, warehouse operations and planning activities, while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved wherever needed to support the wider team and ensure the smooth running of operations.

Please note, the role will involve travel between two nearby sites, therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee the day-to-day running of warehouse, distribution and planning operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods.

· Provide guidance and support to the Warehouse Manager, ensuring daily warehouse activities are effectively managed and operational targets are achieved.

· Coordinate distribution and planning activities to maximise operational efficiency and ensure customer requirements are met.

· Monitor workloads and prioritise tasks effectively to meet business demands and deadlines.

· Ensure accurate records are maintained across warehouse, distribution and planning operations

· Take a hands-on approach to daily operations, supporting the wider team and assisting with tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the department.

· Travel between two nearby business locations as required.

The Ideal Candidate

· Previous experience within a distribution, logistics or warehouse environment, in a management or supervisory capacity.

· Someone who comes from a distribution industry would be highly advantageous

· Strong organisational and time-management skills.

· Confident handling information and maintaining accurate records.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.

· Experience overseeing warehouse operations and managing staff.

· A hands-on attitude, with a willingness to get involved and support the team.

· Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.

· A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between two nearby locations.
