Deliver high impact capital projects across Gloucestershire’s hospitals
Seymour John Public Services is delighted to be partnering with Gloucestershire Managed Services Limited (GMS) to recruit two Senior Project Managers at a pivotal stage in the development of its Capital Delivery function.
This is an opportunity for experienced capital delivery professionals to lead projects within a varied and high impact programme that create and improve healthcare facilities, clinical and operational spaces, hospital infrastructure and statutory compliance across Gloucestershire’s hospitals.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Capital Projects, successful candidates will lead projects across a varied and high impact portfolio, providing hands on leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial scope and planning through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong project delivery experience with disciplined project controls, including planning, cost management, risk and issue management, change control, governance, assurance and reporting. Successful candidates will work within the established GMS Capital Delivery framework, maintaining reliable project information while applying controls proportionately to support effective decision making and delivery.
The role will appeal to experienced client side project professionals from healthcare capital teams, construction and infrastructure organisations, project management consultancies, property and surveying practices, and multidisciplinary design or engineering environments.
The Person
Applicants should demonstrate direct responsibility for delivering projects within a varied capital, estates, infrastructure or construction programme, including technically demanding or operationally sensitive schemes. We are interested in the candidate’s personal accountability, judgement and delivery outcomes, rather than project value alone.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle, from initial requirement and scope development through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
- experience maintaining effective project controls, including programmes, budgets, risks, issues, changes, decisions, assurance, reporting and auditable project documentation
- experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing the appointment, coordination and performance of consultants, contractors and specialist advisers
- experience providing line management, professional support and constructive challenge to Project Managers and other delivery colleagues
- strong commercial and financial judgement, with the ability to manage project risks, programmes and competing stakeholder requirements
- excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills
Healthcare capital experience would be advantageous. Candidates from other occupied, regulated or operationally sensitive environments will also be considered where they can demonstrate directly transferable project delivery experience.
How to apply
Please submit a comprehensive CV and a supporting statement or cover letter of no more than one page explaining your interest in the role and how your experience meets the essential requirements. Applications should be submitted via the campaign microsite and the application route provided in the advert.
