Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Construction

Our client is an established regional main contractor and property developer with a strong presence across the North West. The business delivers a varied portfolio of construction and development projects and has built its reputation on quality, reliability and successful project delivery.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team at their Adlington office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to develop their commercial career within an established main contractor and developer.

Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you will support the financial and contractual management of construction projects, gaining exposure to all aspects of the commercial process.

The role will suit someone with previous experience in a similar position who is keen to build on their existing knowledge, take on additional responsibility and progress their career within a supportive commercial team.

• Assist with the commercial management of construction projects.

• Support the preparation and management of project budgets and cost reports.

• Assist with subcontractor procurement, enquiries and package analysis.

• Prepare and process subcontractor valuations and payment applications.

• Assist with the assessment and valuation of variations and additional works.

• Support the preparation of interim valuations and applications for payment.

• Help monitor project costs, expenditure and financial performance.

• Assist with subcontractor accounts and final account negotiations.

• Liaise with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.

• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.

• Work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors to develop your commercial skills and experience.

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role.

• Experience within a main contractor or construction environment.

• Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles.

• Knowledge of subcontractor procurement, valuations and cost control.

• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

• Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships.

• A proactive approach with a genuine desire to develop professionally.

• Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous.

• Salary of -32,000 - -38,000, depending on experience.
