Senior Cost Manager to join the Health, Science and Education team on a high-profile project within the London Real Estate business. The team is dynamic, innovative and client-focused, supported by an inclusive and fun company culture. The role involves working on health sector projects across public and private sectors, with opportunities to cover other sectors if desired.Responsibilities

To perform the role of the Senior Cost Manager, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery or acting as a key element of a wider project team on larger or more complex projectsTo ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service from pre contract to handoverEstimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost planTendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, creating preliminaries, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documentsDealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line managerTaking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes placeProducing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the clientInputting into value engineeringNegotiating and agreeing final accountsInterfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesWhere appropriate, leading junior members of the cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on their project accountabilitiesQualifications

Ideally Degree qualified in one of the following fields: construction, cost management or Quantity surveyingMRICS Qualification preferred and/or relevant experienceGood knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineeringExperience of working in Education sector projects would be advantageousKnowledge of healthcare and/or education sectorsAbility to lead clients through different stages of projects from feasibility through to completionExperience of working on projects delivered via Two-Stage tenderingExperience of working with JCT and NEC contractsDemonstrable experience of interfacing with key stakeholders and being client-facing in the role of Senior Cost ManagerKnowledge of risks, challenges and opportunities facing public-sector healthcare bodiesExperience of producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the clientExperience of managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectivelyAbility to effectively negotiate and agree final accountsKnowledge of contract administration, value engineering and lifecycle costingExperience of using CostX or similar measurement softwareKey Accountabilities
