This project is focused on a high-value targeted audit of comorbidities within a Trust''s non-elective (emergency) backlog. This is a critical role designed to ensure clinical accuracy and optimise the Trust''s financial reimbursement through meticulous retrospective checks and HRG validation. Key Details The Workload: You will be responsible for reviewing and amending a retrospective backlog of non-elective cases. Unlike standard coding, this role requires a "detective" mindset to identify missed comorbidities and complications (CCs) that accurately reflect patient complexity. Focus: Reviewing emergency admission records to ensure all relevant comorbidities are captured. Impact: Amending existing coding to improve data quality and HRG accuracy. Requirements Essential: National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC) is mandatory. Expert knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 standards. Proven experience in Non-Elective/Emergency admission coding.
