Working Monday to Thursday, you''ll have the opportunity to take ownership of quality across the shift, working closely with Production and Engineering teams to identify issues, investigate root causes and keep manufacturing moving.
With fewer layers between you and the shop floor, this is a role where you''ll be able to make decisions, solve problems and see the impact of your work first-hand.
Why consider the PM shift?
- An additional shift allowance on top of your basic salary.
- 4-day working week – Monday to Thursday.
- No Friday shift, giving you a longer weekend every week.
- Greater autonomy and ownership across your shift.
- A hands-on role where you''ll be close to the manufacturing process.
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact on quality, rather than simply monitoring it.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve issues as they happen.
The Quality Engineer Role
You''ll join an established Quality Assurance team within a busy industrial manufacturing environment, supporting the production operation throughout the PM shift.
You''ll be responsible for helping to ensure components, sub-assemblies and finished products meet the required standards, while preventing quality issues from progressing through the manufacturing process or reaching the customer.
Key responsibilities, as a Quality Engineer will include:
- Supporting Production and Engineering with quality issues, investigations and improvement activities.
- Leading and supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, Ishikawa, FMEA and Control Plans.
- Carrying out and reporting on product and process qualification testing.
- Monitoring incoming and outgoing quality and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Raising and managing quality notifications and alerts.
- Participating in the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
- Investigating customer returns and working with Production, Engineering and R&D to identify root causes.
- Reviewing and approving minor process deviations and product concessions.
- Supporting verification and validation activities.
- Driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and product quality.
About You, as a Quality Engineer
We''re looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys being involved in the detail and isn''t afraid to get onto the shop floor and investigate problems.
You''ll ideally have:
- Experience within aerospace, automotive or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Practical engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
- Experience with 8D, FMEA, Control Plans and Ishikawa/root cause analysis.
- The confidence to investigate problems and work collaboratively with Production and Engineering teams.
The Package
£40,000 – £45,000 basic salary 33% shift allowance
That''s a total earning opportunity of £50,000 – £60,000, working Monday to Thursday, 3:45pm – 1:30am.
If you''re looking for a Quality Engineering role that offers strong earning potential, a 4-day working week and genuine ownership across the shift, this could be an excellent next move.
