Academics, Canterbury have been approached by a well-respected independent boarding school in East Kent to support them with recruiting a Head of Netball.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and dynamic Head of Netball to lead and develop a thriving netball programme within a well-established independent boarding school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering a high-quality, inclusive netball provision that inspires participation while driving competitive success. You will lead coaching across all ability levels, develop talent pathways and play a key role in raising standards and performance across school teams.
In addition to leading netball, you will contribute fully to the wider sports programme, including teaching PE, supporting co-curricular activities and coaching an additional sport. This is a collaborative role within a busy and successful Sports Faculty, requiring energy, organisation and a genuine passion for student development.
The role also includes involvement in boarding life as a tutor, supporting students'' academic progress and wellbeing and undertaking the occasional evening and weekend duties.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a progressive netball programme for all abilities
- Coaching and managing school teams across Years 7-13
- Organising fixtures, tournaments and competitive opportunities
- Supporting talented players into county and regional pathways
- Contributing to PE lessons and the wider co-curricular sports programme
- Playing an active role in boarding, including pastoral care and supervision
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students
- Experience coaching netball to a high standard (Level 2 coaching and umpiring)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A collaborative approach and commitment to school life
- A full UK driving licence
The ability to coach additional sports and experience in a boarding environment would be advantageous.
