Entrepreneurial Structural Engineer

Help build a consultancy. Don’t just join one.

Central London - £35,000 - £60,000 - Permanent

Great engineering is only part of this story. If you’re a structural engineer with a commercial mindset, ideas of your own and the ambition to help build a business, this opportunity deserves a closer look. We’re recruiting on behalf of a dynamic, early-stage structural engineering consultancy looking for someone who wants to help shape its future—not simply fill a seat. This role is very much about mindset, not just technical experience.

The opportunity
This is a chance to combine hands-on structural engineering with the broader challenge of growing a consultancy. You’ll bring sound technical judgement, build client relationships and contribute ideas about how the practice develops. It will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, working collaboratively and turning opportunities into well-delivered projects.

What you’ll bring

- A strong grounding in structural design and a practical approach to solving engineering problems.
- The ability to communicate clearly with clients, architects, contractors and fellow consultants.
- An entrepreneurial outlook: curiosity about opportunities, commercial awareness and the initiative to make things happen.
- A commitment to quality, professional standards and responsible project delivery.
- An appetite for the variety, responsibility and evolving priorities that come with a start-up environment.

Why consider it£
If you’re looking for more than a narrowly defined engineering role, joining a consultancy at this stage offers a different kind of challenge: helping shape its approach, develop relationships and build its reputation. This is about bringing your technical ability and business ambition together, with a meaningful contribution to the practice as it grows.
