Responsibilities and duties of the Environmental Advisor role

Reporting to the Environmental Manager you will:

• Provide day-to-day environmental support to project and site teams

• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and site requirements

• Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), method statements, and risk assessments

• Identify environmental risks and assist in implementing mitigation measures

• Carry out site inspections, monitoring, and environmental audits

• Support environmental incident investigations and reporting

• Maintain accurate environmental records and contribute to performance reporting

• Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders

• Promote environmental awareness and best practice across site

• Support sustainability initiatives including waste management and resource efficiency

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline

• Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, or a regulated industry

• Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams

• Proactive approach to environmental management
