Semi-Skilled Mechanical FitterLocation: BedfordJob Type: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: 35,000 - 42,000, dependent on experienceAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and hands-on Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a busy Hydrostatic Testing and Fettling Department within a leading engineering and manufacturing environment.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you''ll play a key role in the organisation, testing and preparation of pump components, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys practical work and wants to develop their skills within a supportive workshop environment.In addition to day-to-day testing and fettling activities, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help maintain a safe, clean and efficient workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out hydrostatic (pressure) testing of pump components in line with production schedules and build requirements.Identify and resolve issues during testing using a practical and proactive approach.Perform fettling of small and large pump components, preparing them for the next stage of production.Shape and finish impellers and other components using a variety of hand-held power tools.Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, checklists and visual aids.Complete dimensional inspection records, pressure test reports and quality documentation accurately.Operate overhead cranes and forklift ..... full job details .....
