Supervising Social Worker (SSW) within the Fostering sector required in Basildon, Essex. This is a full time opportunity, offering an immediate start. You will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, supervision and development of your team within the fostering sector. Main duties and responsibilities: Regular supervision visits Maintenance of full recording of contacts and visits To advise and liaise with your team Take account of cultural, ethnic, linguistic backgrounds and religious persuasions Attend statutory reviews Ensure that statutory Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards are adhered to Attend team meetings Ideally we are looking for a candidate with the relevant professional qualification in social work - CQSW, CSS, DipSW, BA in Social Work, together with valid Social Work England registration plus at least two years post qualification experience. You will need to have: An understanding of fostering and the needs of looked after children Knowledge of child care legislation Sound knowledge of fostering legislation and practice A good knowledge of child protection and safeguarding Due to the nature of this opportunity, out of hours and a on-call rota will be necessary.
