Our client, a leading organisation in the automotive and advanced technology sector, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its Quality department on a contract basis. This role will support supplier quality activities across a range of commodities, helping to develop a reliable supply chain that delivers conforming products on time and to the required standards.

• Lead supplier quality activities, including supplier assessments, audits and site visits
• Support suppliers in meeting quality, technical and production requirements
• Manage non-conforming products, concessions, containments and corrective actions
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using methods such as 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa
• Develop supplier performance monitoring systems and support continual improvement across the supply chain
• Act as the day-to-day point of contact for supply chain quality concerns within assigned programmes
• Build effective supplier relationships on technical matters, development parts and production processes
• Support engineering change requests, Design for Excellence activities, component releases and risk-based supplier development

• Experience in supplier quality engineering or a related quality engineering role within the automotive or manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of quality engineering, supplier audits, non-conformance reports and concessions
• Experience of reviewing PPAP documentation and leading APQP activities
• Understanding of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA, AS9100 or similar
• Proven experience in problem-solving and implementing permanent corrective actions
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritise activities using risk management principles and travel nationally or internationally when required
