The focus of MCR is residential and industrial new build and asset management of existing assets, currently with a pipeline of approximately 7000 residential plots and a commercial / industrial portfolio with a value in excess of £2bn.MCR plans to expand significantly within the coming few years and is seeking motivated people with construction experience to grow with us.As a Managing Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.You will be reporting to the Construction Director, running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependant on your level and location.Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement processMinimum 5 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and valuesHave worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractorExperience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering and procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accountsWide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and proceduresTechnical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systemsHold a full clean driving licencePersonal and Professional AttributesMust approach problematic situations head-on, be prepared to be a sounding board and able to provide appropriate solutionsStrong Interpersonal SkillsComfortable negotiating with subcontractorsProfessional approachConfidence to deal with people at all levelsArray of benefits and negotiable bonusPensionSeniority level
