Designated Safeguarding Lead
TeacherActive are proud to be working with a brilliant SEND school based in Selly Oak. They are seeking an experienced and committed Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join their specialist SEND provision in Selly Oak, Birmingham. This is a key role with responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection across the setting.This post is offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent subject to service needs and performance.The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, staff, external agencies, and families to promote a strong culture of safeguarding and ensure that all children and young people are safe, supported, and able to thrive.Key Responsibilities Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and local safeguarding procedures Manage and oversee safeguarding concerns, referrals, and records, ensuring accurate and confidential documentation Liaise with external agencies including Children s Services, health professionals, and other safeguarding partners Provide safeguarding advice, guidance, and support to staff Deliver and coordinate safeguarding training and updates for staff Contribute to policy development and ensure safeguarding policies are implemented effectively Monitor safeguarding practices within a SEND context, ensuring the specific needs of vulnerable learners are fully considered About You Proven experience as a Designated Safeguarding
