Job Title: Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a premier specialist contractor delivering major schemes across London and the South East. You will act as the technical lead, managing design packages for complex demolition, heavy propping, fa-ade retention, and deep excavations.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Check: Lead concept-to-detail temporary works designs (calculations, drawings, specs) and perform independent Cat 2/3 design checks.
Scope: Cover demolition stability, fa-ade retention, heavy propping, needling, excavation supports, piling platforms, and falsework.
Compliance: Ensure full adherence to BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes, and company safety standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with TWCs, project managers, site teams, and permanent works designers to ensure buildability.
Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical site audits to resolve site-specific design issues.

Requirements
Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Chartered/Incorporated preferred).
Proven experience in temporary works design and checking with a specialist contractor or consultancy.
Strong expertise in BS 5975, CDM, structural analysis, and geotechnical behavior.
Proficient in structural analysis software and CAD/BIM tools.
