Class 2 HGV Driver

Location: Huddersfield Base - Delivering to Nationwide Routes - England, Scotland & Wales

Pay Rate: -15.25 p/h (Salaried Figure -29,737.50)

Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week; 8:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Weekend work, unsociable hours, early starts, late finishes and regular overnight stays are a requirement of this role

Contract: 3 Month Temporary Contract with Potential to Become Permanent

Stafflex are working with a reputable and growing organisation, seeking a reliable and flexible HGV driver to support nationwide deliveries across the UK. This role is ideal for a professional driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and maintaining high operational standards.

This role requires flexibility as the routes will cover England, Scotland and Wales. The work may include weekend work, overnight stays, and varying start and finish times.

Key Responsibilities

• Transportation of goods and materials to designated locations in a timely and safe manner
• Plan delivery routes and follow schedules to ensure efficient deliveries
• Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured correctly to prevent damage
• Verify delivery documentation prior to departure
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including times and customer signatures
• Report discrepancies, delays or vehicle issues to management
• Conduct routine vehicle inspection
• Ensure vehicles are kept clean, presentable and compliant with H&S regulations
• Provide a professional and courteous service
• Assist with any warehouse duties when not on delivery runs
• Stock replenishment and stock checks
• Carry out additional duties deemed reasonable by management.

Key Requirements

• Valid HGV license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in a driving role
• Familiarity with GPS and route-planning systems
• Experience working within a warehouse environment
• Good level of written and spoken English required
• Ability to follow instruction and adapt to changing schedules
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Physical capability to manually handle and lift reasonable weight
• Comfortable driving for extended periods while legally adhering to legal rest regulation
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
