Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Basis: Full time

Role responsibilities

The Contracts Manager is responsible for maintaining the health of TfW''s contract portfolio by supporting contract owners and providing expert advice and governance to ensure contracts are delivered effectively and commercial risk is mitigated.

Coordinate and organise the business to take ownership of and accountability for contracts by collaborating with procurement and contract owners to plan resources and manage future needs.

Review and sign off all contract changes up to the delegated authority level (excluding Infrastructure and Grant Agreement), challenge the justification for contract variations or extensions, and liaise with partners and suppliers to ensure appropriate terms, budget alignment, and governance over contracts.

Act as the subject matter expert for contract management, providing advice to the business, senior leadership, and contract owners to ensure compliant and effective contract performance and due diligence over new group entities.

Address poor performance with suppliers by overseeing contract management activities and interventions to mitigate risk.

Who we''re looking for

A relevant professional qualification (e.g., degree, MCIPS or MRICS, World Commerce and Contracting certification) or proven relevant experience.

Demonstrable experience leading management of complex, high-value contracts in a regulated environment with a focus on post-contract management.

Experience in improving the business'' knowledge of contract management through mentoring and driving a continuous improvement agenda.

Effective commercial and contract management skills with knowledge and execution of best-practice methodologies, including whole-life cost validations and contract desktop reviews.

Welsh skillsThe ability to speak or write Welsh is not essential, but would be a great addition. Transport for Wales supports and promotes Welsh language use and offers development opportunities to improve Welsh skills through online learning, classroom courses, and local funding.
