Maintenance Engineer

£35,000 to £40,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime + benefits

A global manufacturer based in Huddersfield is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Maintenance team.

This role offers a mix of electrical and mechanical work across factory build, testing and site installation. It’s a stable business with a strong reputation, long-term projects and clear scope for development.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer

• Build and assemble electrical and mechanical equipment within a factory environment
• Carry out testing, inspections and checks prior to delivery
• Support installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites when required
• Complete electrical wiring, mechanical fit-out and sub-assemblies to drawings and specifications
• Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, safety and cGMP standards
• Take responsibility for job documentation and quality records
• Work to production schedules and take ownership of assigned tasks
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to deliver projects on time

Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications (C&G / NVQ / HNC / HND)
• Experience working within an FMCG environment
• Electrical installation experience
• Comfortable working in both factory and site-based settings
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications
