We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function within a busy transport and logistics business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Ledger processing, supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs
- Sales Ledger, invoicing and customer account management
- Credit Control, chasing overdue payments and resolving queries
- Supporting weekly and monthly payroll using Sage Payroll
- Daily bank reconciliations, expense processing and cash management
- Assisting with month-end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team
- Providing occasional reception and general office support when required
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
- Strong Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit Control experience
- Previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts Professional and Sage Payroll
- Experience with bank reconciliations and payroll administration
- Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
Desirable:
- AAT Level 3 or above (or studying towards)
- Month-end accounting experience
- Experience within transport, logistics or warehousing
