As a Catering Assistant, Your Duties Will Include:

• 
  

  Supporting Chefs, Catering Managers and kitchen teams

• 
  

  Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food items

• 
  

  Assisting with food service to children, patients, staff and customers depending on the assignment

• 
  

  Liaising with teachers, care workers and other site staff where required

• 
  

  Operating tills and handling payments where required

• 
  

  Clearing down and closing catering units at the end of shifts

• 
  

  Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

• 
  

  Following food safety and food allergen legislation at all times

• 
  

  Ensuring food service areas remain clean, organised and well stocked

• 
  

  Working closely with catering teams to deliver an efficient service

What We Are Looking For In Our Catering Assistants

• 
  

  Previous experience working as a Catering Assistant andndash; experience within education, healthcare or contract catering would be advantageous

• 
  

  Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, are essential

• 
  

  An Enhanced DBS with the appropriate barred list check, or willingness to obtain one where required for the assignment

• 
  

  Strong communication and organisational skills

• 
  

  Ability to work effectively in fast-paced catering environments

• 
  

  A positive, reliable and professional approach to work

• 
  

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• 
  

  Passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
