Software Engineer Location: Derby - On-site (5 days a week) Salary: Up to £40,000 Contract: Permanent A Software Engineer is required to join a delivery-focused engineering team working on the development of modern, full-stack applications for a key client environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with end users and stakeholders, contributing directly to the design, build and improvement of production systems. The work is delivered in a collaborative, agile setting, with a strong emphasis on clean code, secure development and engineering best practice. Due to the nature of the work, this role is site-based in Derby and candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.1 year+ of experience as a software engineer Design, build and maintain full-stack web applications using modern Python frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask) and Javscript/Typescript in ReactDevelop and manage SQL-based data models across relational databasesWork within an Agile team, contributing to stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectivesApply secure development practices, including OWASP standards and authentication protocolsImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deploymentsParticipate in code reviews and support continuous improvement of engineering processesCollaborate with stakeholders in a client-facing delivery environmentMaintain familiarity with Docker, Linux, Azure DevOps, or other modern tooling where applicableThe client is moving quickly
