Who would you be working for - This home supports adolescents who have encountered adversity, including emotional distress, behavioural issues, or disruptive life events. It''s a transition home with ages 14 to 23 years. They are committed to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our communities. With your support, they can help every child and young person reach beyond their circumstances and discover what''s truly possible. You will focus on trauma-informed care that recognises each individual''s story, strengths, and needs.
What would your responsibilities be? As a Senior Support Worker, you will take the lead in supervising and mentoring a dedicated team of care workers, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently met while safeguarding the wellbeing of young people. You will play an integral part in planning and delivering individualised support plans, offering consistent emotional, social, and behavioural guidance. Working closely with management and therapeutic teams, you will contribute to the holistic care of each young person, supporting their journey toward independence and growth. Additionally, you will maintain accurate care documentation, monitor progress, and assist in staff development, ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of the team.
Requirements? We are looking for a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential) and at least 2 years'' care experience (preferred). You must be emotionally resilient, committed to safeguarding, and capable of leading and mentoring staff. Strong organisational and written skills are required, along with a UK manual driving licence and the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
Additional skills, such as creativity or knowledge of OFSTED/CQC standards, are a plus. You must have the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (company funded), be 21 or older, and willing to work a varied shift pattern.
