Overview

Specialty Training Programme Director for Cardiothoracic Surgery within the South West School of Surgery. The role supports the Head of School for Surgery in leading the delivery of a wide range of educational functions aligned to the NHS England mandate and long-term workforce plan. The focus is on improving learner supervision, assessment and experience, engaging faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes now and in the future. This is a senior educator position appointed on a part-time secondment to NHS England, alongside existing employment with an NHS Trust in the South West geographical footprint.Responsibilities

Lead and support the delivery of educational functions aligned to the NHS England mandate and long-term workforce plan.Improve learner supervision, assessment, and learner experience across the region.Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes.Collaborate with the Head of School for Surgery to provide strategic educational leadership in cardiothoracic training.Work as part of a multi-professional team to drive educational quality and outcomes.Ideal candidate / Qualifications
