Payment Operations Manager

We''re looking for an experienced Payment Operations Manager to join our dynamic and fast paced team on a permanent basis. This role will work alongside our current Payment Operations Managers and closely with the Head of Payments Operations. You will be responsible for looking after our client money collateral accounts, all their associated processes and controls. You will have a small specialist team that will work with multiple teams across the business in their day to day role.The objective of the role is to ensure that our customers’ funds across many payment services and products are reconciled daily, allocated and managed appropriately within our regulatory requirements. This role is to manage the day to day scope of payment operations across many services provided to our clients. We are looking for a driven and agile Payments Operations Manager with meticulous attention to detail, drive and tenacity to ensure clients funds are allocated and protected.The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, focused and highly organised individual, who can understand and present complex payment, funding, treasury, settlement and collateral requirements and process information. You must be a team player when it comes to getting the job done and assist wherever you can. Modulr develops cutting-edge API-first solutions that enable businesses to overcome these challenges and take control of their money.The key tasks of your role may include:Line management of a small specialised teamWork with clients to ensure we calculate adequate collateral provisions for managing their products and services.You will meet with clients regularly to review report and manage collateral funding requestsYou will work closely within the boundaries set by legal contracts, terms and conditions and payment scheme rules and complianceWork closely with our finance, billing and FPA teams to ensure we effectively manage funds, recoveries and settlement obligationsDeputise and represent the Head of Payment Operations at a senior level on various risk committeesSupport the Head of Payment Operations with defining and updating appropriate payment policies and procedures.Management of all daily operations across UK payment schemes and payment providers FPS, CHAPS, BACS, Direct Debit, Direct Debit Collections, Virtual and Physical cards and SEPAManagement of all daily treasury for all payments on various online and in-house platforms (BACS, Direct Debits, SWIFT, SEPA, CHAPS, Faster Payments), ensuring they are processed accurately and within cut offs and SLAsManagement of all BAU processes carried out by the payment analysts for reconciliations, treasury, customer support payment queries, recalls/indemnities/chargebacks/service downtime and payment exceptionsLiaise with internal and external stakeholders including senior colleagues and our partner banksDefine and present meaningful date and MI, analyse trends and forecastsMonitor real-time payment/transaction flows, payment/transaction processing and activity to ensure all services are active and adhering to SLAsSupport the development and build knowledge within the team, providing coaching and guidanceEnsure all reconciliations and investigations are completed in line with internal and external SLAs and in line with regulationsCollaborate with senior colleagues to resolve technical payment issuesProvide SME payment support to wider business and contribute to ad hoc requests or projectsSchedule and allocate work for the teamContinue to develop processes and workflows to increase efficiency within the teamBuild out BAU processes for new product launches along side product team/Head of Payment OperationsTake part in on call, out of hours rota to aide/manage incidents and payment queriesManage on-call rotas for payment operations teamAbout You: To join us as a Payments Operations Manager, you’ll need:You have 5-6 years’ industry experience, with at least 3-4 years in a managerial roleExperience in managing a payments, finance, treasury, collections or other operational linked function ideally within Financial ServicesYou have experience of three or more of SEPA, Card Transactions, SWIFT or UK scheme payment processingYou will ideally have experience with at least one of the following, chargebacks, transaction monitoring, APP fraud, DD’s or FPSIn depth knowledge and understanding of performing client money reconciliations and building reconciliation processesExperience managing technical or operational change processesYou have excellent Microsoft excel skillsYou are comfortable engaging and presenting to other teams and senior stakeholders across the business to resolve queries/operational issues, sometimes within tight deadlinesYou are structured, organised and comfortable handling competing pressuresYou are articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skillsYou have the desire and experience to improve processes and controlsYou can think creatively, are driven and self-motivatedYou have demonstrable ability to work with team members in a collegiate environment whilst independently managing your own timeYou are comfortable working in an early stage business, where time is critical, and priorities change frequentlyThe world of FinTech excites you!Share options incentive scheme and performance-based bonus schemeFlexible benefits
