We are looking for a Fundraising Officer with strong fundraising fundamentals, curiosity, creativity and a willingness to experiment. At a time when the charity sector and the wider world are changing quickly, we want someone who can look beyond familiar approaches, spot opportunities others might miss and turn new ideas into practical action. ABOUT DISABILITY AFRICA Disability Africa works in partnership with locally led organisations in The Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Eswatini. Together, we create opportunities for disabled children and young people to participate in community life on an equal basis, while working to change attitudes and challenge the exclusion they face. At the heart of this work are community-based play hubs, led by our partners, where disabled children and young people play alongside their peers, build relationships and become more connected to their communities. Our work is grounded in the Social Model of Disability. We focus on removing the social and attitudinal barriers that exclude disabled children and young people, and we reject pity-based approaches to fundraising and communication. We are also conscious of the colonial power structures that continue to shape the international development sector.
