A growing haulage and aggregates business operating a centrally managed fleet of over 100 vehicles is creating a new Fleet Manager position to support continued expansion. Covering HGVs, LGVs, commercial vans and company vehicles, this is a hands-on leadership role focused on fleet operations, workshop management, transport compliance and vehicle asset management within a busy, high-output environment.Working closely with HGV technicians, the Garage Manager and senior stakeholders across the group, you will control workshop workflow, preventative maintenance schedules and reactive repairs to minimise downtime and maximise fleet utilisation. Responsibility includes MOT coordination, dealer bookings, statutory inspections, servicing programmes and ensuring compliance with O Licence undertakings, DVSA regulations and UK road transport legislation.Commercial oversight is key. You will manage parts procurement, supplier negotiations, purchase orders and stock control, while overseeing workshop job sheets, interdepartmental recharges and fleet cost reporting to support monthly PandL performance.
