Bennett and Game Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute construction professional to take ownership of multiple projects from contract award through to final account, while also supporting project delivery and coordination.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys both commercial management and project support, with the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key part in successful project delivery.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and project co-ordination aspects of several live projects, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract documentation including terms and conditions, employer''s requirements, drawings, warranties, and bonds
• Provide commercial and contractual advice throughout the lifecycle of each project
• Attend pre-contract and post-contract meetings
• Monitor, price, and agree project variations and change orders
• Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment and manage interim valuations
• Oversee payment tracking and ensure timely agreement of final accounts
• Produce cost value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Support dispute resolution where required
• Prepare tender enquiries and subcontract packages
• Negotiate subcontract terms and place orders
• Manage subcontractor applications, payments, and final accounts
• Help improve internal commercial processes and procedures
• Support junior commercial staff and encourage best practice across the team

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction
• Strong understanding of contract administration, valuations, CVRs, and subcontract management
• Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously
• Good knowledge of construction processes and project delivery
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Willingness to travel to site when required
