An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering Service as an Assessment social worker. This would include the completion of Special Guardianship assessments and Connected Person Assessments including conversion assessments for those carers pursuing a Special Guardianship arrangement. This is an exciting time to join Cardiff, which is an Authority on the implementation journey that uses strengths based practice in their approach to working with children and their families. The suitable applicant must demonstrate that they meet the requirements for a Grade 8 assessment social worker in the Fostering team as described in the Job Description and Person Specification. You will be responsible for assessing family members putting themselves forward to become kinship foster carers, Special Guardians and/or currently approved foster carers wishing to pursue a Special Guardianship Order.
