Overview

The purpose of this role is to support the COO in delivering the operational strategy for the Marine and Transportation division. You will be required to provide support in maximising efficiency of current systems and infrastructures. This role significantly contributes to the division growth agenda through investigating quality problems and supporting the implementation of changes and improvements. This role requires ongoing evaluation of systems, data and processes to identify areas of growth opportunity.Responsibilities

Maximise efficiency of current systems and infrastructureInvestigate quality problems and recommend changes or improvementsFacilitate the introduction across the division of new processes or improvements to existing processesResponsible for providing governance, regulatory, and compliance oversight for Marine and Transportation operations across the UK, ensuring adherence to all relevant national and local legislation, industry standards, and internal policiesOngoing evaluation of systems, analysing data, evaluating processes to establish best practice and identify opportunities for improvementEstablish optimal internal tech solution with input and support from key stakeholdersEnsure that all activities undertaken are compliant with current regulatory and internal standards and proceduresMonitoring of cash collection performance and Bad DebtResponsibility for Forecasting, Budgeting and tracking Actuals in relation to revenue and expensesMaintain Divisional Risk Register and identify emerging riskMonitoring of Company KPI goals with the Division, ensuring remedial action where performance falls below company expectationPreparation of material for governance meetings (Business Unit reports, Divisional ExCo meetings, Team meetings)NDA Champion and signatoryKey contact for internal and external audit queriesResponsible for Divisional inbound and outbound-reconciliation and settlementWork on corporate operational improvement projectsEnsure that necessary policies and standards for service quality are set and maintained and that compliance is assuredDrive business success by identifying, triaging, and developing areas of change to enhance efficiency and cost saving, revenue growth, and to maximise valueTake a change initiative from ideology and planning, through to development and deployment, working across business functions and with multiple stakeholders to achieve a successful outcomeUnderstands both internal and customer requirements and translates them into product requirementsDeputise for COO at meetings as and where appropriateQualifications

Proven insurance experience in management with high levels of operational and financial knowledgeA thorough understanding of insurance policies and proceduresAbility to work alongside a team of high performing professionals. Create a strong team ethic and commitment to high standardsPossess a natural gravitas and can work with people from all parts of an organisation
