Are you a compassionate and experienced Team Leader looking for a rewarding role in children’s residential care? We are currently recruiting for a committed Team Leader to join our specialist children's home in Dudley, supporting children with learning disabilities, medical needs, and physical disabilities, including those who are wheelchair-bound.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Team Leader to join a supportive and professional care team, where you will help create a nurturing and safe environment for young people with complex health and care needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Team Leader:

Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading the care team during shifts.

Provide hands-on care and support to children with complex needs, including manual handling and medical support tasks.

Lead by example in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in line with each child’s individual care plan.

Oversee shift planning, medication administration, personal care, and health-related routines.

Support the physical, emotional, and social development of each young person.

Promote and maintain safeguarding procedures at all times.

Supervise and mentor support staff, offering guidance, coaching, and role modelling.

Maintain accurate and detailed records, including incident reports, care documentation, and medical logs.

Liaise with external professionals such as nurses, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic care.
Requirements for the Team Leader Role:

Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities and complex medical needs.

Prior experience as a Team Leader or in a senior residential support role is highly desirable.

Confident in delivering personal care and working with individuals who are wheelchair users or have limited mobility.

Knowledge of safeguarding, medical protocols, and care planning.

Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Willingness to work long shifts and participate in regular sleep-ins.
