Quantity Surveyor

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 + Car Allowance

Skilled Careers are working with a Tier One Main Contractor who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of construction projects, maximise profitability and minimise contractual risks.

As Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets, cash flow and profitability.

• Procure and manage subcontractors, materials and plant orders.

• Negotiate and agree contract variations with clients and suppliers.

• Measure, value and monitor completed work, payments and invoicing.

• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and the wider supply chain.

• Monitor project performance and support successful project delivery.

About You

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.

• A degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable.

• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

• Confident managing deadlines, budgets and competing priorities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.

• A proactive team player who can also work independently.
