The Role

As a Service & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing a range of specialist equipment both at customer sites and within the company''s workshop. The role combines customer-facing field service activities with internal maintenance responsibilities, making it ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety.

Key duties will include:

• Service, calibration, fault finding and repair of specialist electrical and mechanical equipment
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs
• Building, testing and commissioning equipment
• Installation and support of equipment at customer sites
• Producing and reviewing service and calibration documentation
• Liaising with customers regarding repairs, service requirements and technical support
• Supporting facility and site maintenance activities
• Working closely with colleagues to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Regular travel throughout the UK with occasional travel across Europe

To be successful in this position, you should have:

• A recognised electrical engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent
• Experience in servicing, fault finding, maintenance and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a professional customer-facing manner
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• IT literacy with experience using Windows-based systems
• A full UK driving licence
• A valid passport and willingness to travel when required

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience carrying out calibration work
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance programmes
• Facilities or building maintenance experience
• Experience working within laboratory, scientific, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing or regulated environments
