Excellent long-term contract opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer with 5+ years experience to work on cutting-edge Hydrogen Energy projects.
Hybrid working with 3 days/week in office.

Our client, a leading provider in the Oil and Gas sector, seeks a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role involves contributing to industry-leading projects across various phases, from concept studies to EPCm of major developments, including traditional Oil and Gas assets and innovative Hydrogen solutions. The environment supports professional growth and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing technical input for instrumentation on projects and proposals, including preparing, checking, and approving engineering documentation.
Ensuring compliance with codes, legislation, and standards.
Preparing equipment and material requisitions for control systems, safety systems, analyser houses, field instrumentation, and other instrument equipment.
Preparing installation scopes of work.
Reviewing supplier quotations and preparing technical bid assessments.
Additional tasks may include:
Full lifecycle development of control or protection systems.
Software qualification of SMART devices and PLCs.
Performing functional safety tasks.
Managing CandI ageing and obsolescence.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering; apprenticeships considered.
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it.
Proficiency in design practices and installation requirements across industries.
Experience in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, and Water sectors.
Knowledge of UK legislation and standards.
Experience with equipment installation in potentially explosive areas.
Experience with CE marking, ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, EMC Compliance.
Awareness of risk management and HSE requirements.
