This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on, vital role in a busy and creative DT department; supporting teachers and students to get the most out of every practical lesson.If you enjoy working with your hands, take pride in a well-organised workshop, and want to contribute to young people''s education in a meaningful way, this could be the perfect role for you.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, maintain and organise tools, equipment and materials across resistant materials, textiles and graphics areasSupport teachers in the delivery of practical lessons and hands-on demonstrationsEnsure the workshop and preparation areas are safe, clean and fully stocked at all timesCarry out routine maintenance and basic repairs on DT machinery and equipmentConduct and review risk assessments in line with health and safety requirementsMonitor stock levels and liaise with the department lead to place orders as neededSupport students with practical tasks under the direction of the class teacherAssist with the setup and clear-down of equipment before and after lessonsWhat We''re Looking ForEssential:Practical experience in a DT technician, workshop or similar technical roleWorking knowledge of resistant materials, woodwork or product designStrong understanding of workshop health and safety
