Job Title: Senior Electronic Design Engineer
Location: Cambridge (On-Site Working)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview:

Zenovo are looking for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their client in Cambridge who design and manufacture globally recognised Automotive Electronics & Systems

This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineer with strong hardware design and embedded systems experience to contribute across the full product lifecycle, from system architecture and concept through to design, verification, production and end-of-life.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing products for manufacture, ideally in automotive or another regulated environment. You’ll be comfortable working to deadlines, owning designs, solving complex engineering challenges and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support electronic system architecture, requirements and hardware development.
  • Design electronic circuits, schematics and PCB layouts, working with external design partners where required.
  • Perform design analysis, including simulations, component checks, DFMEA and worst-case analysis.
  • Test, verify and validate hardware, including environmental and EMC testing.
  • Produce clear technical documentation to company, industry and customer standards.
  • Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to support Design for Manufacture and cost reduction.
  • Take ownership of designs, resolving engineering issues and supporting the transition from development to production.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of safety-related hardware in line with functional safety requirements.

Required Skills & Experience: 
  • Experience in electronic hardware design and development, with a good understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction.
  • Experience taking electronic products from system architecture and concept through to production.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, including power supplies and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience with communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C and Ethernet.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, circuit simulation, hardware commissioning, debugging and testing.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and product qualification, including EMC and environmental testing.
  • Experience working with manufacturing partners on DFM, reliability, FMEA and design improvements.
