Mech Electrics are proud to be representing a highly respected engineering and construction business as they continue to expand their Pre-Construction team.

This is not a role for someone who simply reviews drawings or prices tenders.

We''re looking for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical professional from a Building Services / MEP contracting background who understands how technically complex projects are delivered and is ready to influence them long before work starts on site.

You''ll already appreciate the importance of mechanical and electrical installations within the built environment. This opportunity allows you to broaden that responsibility by coordinating the wider construction process, working alongside Design, Commercial, Manufacturing and Operational teams to ensure projects are commercially robust, technically sound and fully buildable before mobilisation.

Our client delivers complex projects directly for end-user clients, often taking responsibility for the complete construction package, including the building envelope, MEP services and bespoke off-site manufactured solutions produced within their own manufacturing facility.

The Role

Working alongside senior leadership and project delivery teams, you''ll manage the pre-construction phase of multiple technically demanding projects, ensuring every opportunity is thoroughly planned before construction begins.

This is a client-facing position requiring regular engagement with consultants, specialist suppliers, internal departments and project stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each bid and negotiated project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities from enquiry through to project mobilisation.

• Coordinate Design, Commercial, Manufacturing and Operational teams.

• Review technical drawings, specifications and employer''s requirements.

• Drive buildability reviews and value engineering initiatives.

• Develop construction methodologies, programmes and delivery strategies.

• Support estimating, procurement and tender submissions.

• Engage with specialist suppliers and subcontractors during bid development.

• Coordinate bespoke off-site manufactured solutions into project delivery.

• Identify technical, commercial and programme risks before construction.

• Attend client meetings, technical workshops and design reviews.

• Support seamless handover into the operational delivery team.

• Build long-term relationships with clients through technical knowledge and professional delivery.

We''re Looking For

You''ll already be working within Mechanical or Electrical Building Services and have developed a strong understanding of how complex projects are successfully delivered.

Your experience may have been gained as a:

• Pre-Construction Manager

• Project Manager

• Design Manager

• Contracts Manager

• Senior Building Services Engineer

• Technical Manager

You''ll also possess:

• A Mechanical or Electrical Building Services background.

• Experience working on technically complex construction projects.

• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

• Strong commercial awareness and planning ability.

• An appreciation of the wider construction process beyond MEP installations.

• The confidence to coordinate multiple disciplines and influence project outcomes.
