Environmental Engineer Team / Directorate: Integrated Workforce / Operations Starting salary: £28,932 rising to 30,955 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants) Contract type: Permanent Work pattern: Full time with a 9 day fortnight work pattern (alternative 33 and 41 hours a week) Interview date: TBC Post number: 200505 The role The post holder will provide a maintenance service and deliver a capital work programme for NRW assets which will include Flood risk assets and NRW managed Land. This will include activities associated with all aspects of asset maintenance from electronically recording general inspections to grass cutting, chainsaw work, tractor driving, fencing, to small scale construction projects, keeping Natural Resources Wales assets at their present target condition. Working within a small team in all weather conditions throughout mid Wales, the post holder will provide an appropriate emergency response and will be required to be part of a standby rota and provide out of hours cover. You will be joining a team which is passionate about the work they do, reducing the risk of flooding to properties in Mid Wales. Your work will mainly be concentrated on the maintenance of flood defence assets such as flood defence embankments and structures but will also include work on the Welsh Government Forest estate and on National Nature Reserves.
