Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Freelance Civil Site Engineer on behalf of a reputable civil engineering contractor to work on a new upcoming project in Selly Oak, Birmingham. The contractor are delivering a varied groundworks and muckshift package for social housing upgrades. The work will include: topsoil strip, paving, road upgrades, surfacing, services and some landscaping and external works. The project will run from September 2026 to mid-2027, with potential further phases to be confirmed. Duties: Survey existing levels and keep on top of volumes of cut to evidence when claiming in application Set out all services as per GPR and keep records of all exposed and potentially lowered Survey existing and setting out of all new footpaths, steps and fencing Create as built records throughout, of all works Manage the QA side of delivery Raise RFI''s and TQ''s Support the Site Manager Experience required: Must have proven experience as Site Engineer within groundworks / civils Must be confident with use of GPS and Total Station Must have the ability to process volume reports Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree) Ideally have own kit but not essential Must hold: CSCS card and full driving license Pay: A rate of up to 350 per day (doe).
