About the role [Company] is a civil engineering consultancy delivering highways, drainage and transport schemes for local authorities, developers and National Highways. We need a Highways Design Engineer to design safe, buildable road schemes from feasibility to construction.

What you will do

• Design highway alignments, junctions, kerbing and road markings
• Produce Section 278 and Section 38 designs for developments
• Coordinate highway drainage design
• Prepare drawings, calculations and design reports in Civil 3D
• Respond to road safety audits and local authority technical approval
• Support schemes through construction, including site visits

What you need

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
• 3+ years in UK highways design
• Good knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets and local authority standards
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills
• Understanding of CDM regulations

Nice to have

• Drainage design experience (MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage)
• Experience on National Highways or major road schemes
• IEng or CEng with ICE or CIHT, or working towards it
