Health and Safety Manager
Corporate Health and Safety Manager Location: Chatham Contract: Permanent Rate: Competitive Our Client is seeking an experienced Corporate Health and Safety Manager to act as the Council s competent person and lead expert for occupational health and safety. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with HandS legislation, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement across all services. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement corporate HandS policies and strategies in line with legislation and best practice. Act as the Council s representative with enforcing authorities and provide expert advice to senior management. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and investigations, recommending preventative measures. Deliver bespoke HandS training for employees and managers, fostering a culture of shared responsibility. Analyse accident and incident data to identify trends and inform decision-making. Promote wellbeing initiatives and support occupational health matters, including stress management and safe working practices. Requirements: NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification. Minimum 3 years experience in occupational HandS roles. Strong knowledge of HandS legislation, risk assessment methodologies, and best practice. Proven ability to develop and deliver training and investigate workplace incidents. Excellent communication, organisational, and data analysis skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to travel for work purposes (
