Civil Site Manager - Sub Station
Job Title: Site ManagerLocation: MelkshamRate: £500 - £600 per dayHours: Full-timeI am working with a key contractor to recruit a Site Manager to lead and manage civil and electrical works on a major sub-station project. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of safety and quality standards within the electricity transmission industry.Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors, and site activitiesDevelop and implement safety documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Site Quality Plans, and Risk Assessments/Method StatementsConduct site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and daily briefingsPrepare daily Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and allocate tasksProduce and maintain site-specific risk and method statementsDevelop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completionCarry out regular site inspections for compliance with safety regulationsCommunicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholdersAttend weekly progress meetings and resolve on-site issuesEnsure quality control measures are implemented throughout the projectMaintain accurate documentation and site diaries Essential: NSI 6 and 8 FullSMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme)First Aid at WorkSHEA Power / CSCSTemporary Works Coordinator and SupervisorPrevious experience as a Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM) for National Grid Desirable Skills and Experience: SSE authorisation (minimum CAT1C)Extens
