Job Purpose The Traffic Marshall is responsible for controlling the movement of vehicles and plant on site to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and the public. The role involves guiding drivers, maintaining safe traffic flow, and supporting site operations by minimizing risks associated with vehicle movement. Key Responsibilities Direct the safe movement of vehicles, plant, and delivery drivers on site. Use standardized hand signals or two-way radios to communicate clearly with drivers. Control site entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized vehicles and pedestrians enter. Manage traffic flow to prevent congestion and hazards in busy or restricted areas. Ensure pedestrians are kept away from vehicle operating zones. Monitor and enforce compliance with site traffic management plans. Report unsafe practices, near misses, or hazards to the Site Manager. Assist with emergency procedures and evacuations if required. Maintain constant awareness of health, safety, and environmental requirements. Requirements and Qualifications Valid Traffic Marshall / Banksman Certificate (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent). Experience working on construction, warehouse, or industrial sites (preferred). Good understanding of site health and safety regulations. Ability to communicate clearly using hand signals and radios. Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
