Walsall Council, on behalf of the Governing Body of St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work in Early Years. 30 hours per week, term-time only. Salary £18,914 - £22,967. This is a fixed term appointment initially until 31 August 2026.

Responsibilities
Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils. Bring a hard-working and positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for continuing the school’s vision. Be well organised, caring, professional and dedicated to maximising the development and potential for each and every child, while also showing a commitment to the ethos of an effective Catholic school.
Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum and liaise with parents/carers where necessary.
Work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment and implement agreed learning activities.
Be flexible to work around the school, including covering classes if needed, and support other staff members including trips and events.
Implement teaching programmes and adjust activities according to pupil responses/needs; help pupils access learning activities through specialist support.
Essential/Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Be able to support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
Have a good understanding of child development.
Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Demonstrate a high level of speech and language.
Be able to liaise with parents/carers and work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment.
Be flexible to work around the school and support other staff, including trips and events.
