Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting an exciting business in County Durham in their recruitment of a Head of Finance Operations to lead the finance operations function.

This role is a senior leadership opportunity that offers a broad remit across finance operations, payments and banking, operational resilience, controls and transformation. With a solid background with finance technology, you will support with identifying further opportunities to simplify processes, automate activities and make effective use of emerging technologies, including AI.

Duties and responsibilities

• Shape and deliver finance operations strategy and operating model, ensuring it supports wider business and technology objectives.
• Lead the continued optimisation of processes within the finance system, improving the use of existing-functionality and identifying opportunities for further automation and technology enablement.
• Simplify-and standardise processes to build a scalable, efficient and resilient finance operations function.
• Strengthen operational resilience through effective financial controls, governance, contingency planning and business arrangements.
• Oversee key banking supplier relationships, ensuring strong service service performance, clear accountability and effective management of operational risk and resilience.
• Working closely with finance systems and colleagues across finance, technology and change and transformation to deliver meaningful improvements and measurable business benefits.

You will be/have;

• Leadership experience within finance operations, including strong experience of payments and banking systems and processes.
• A proven track record of delivering finance transformation and process optimisation, including process redesign, standardisation and the successful adoption of new systems and ways of working.
• Experience designing and implementing systems, processes ad controls that support operational resilience for important business services.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience leading cross- functional change across finance, technology and the wider business.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, alongside experience leading and developing high performing teams.
• Experience of exploring or implementing emerging technologies, including AI, within finance operations.
