OVERVIEW:
The successful Court of Protection Lawyer will manage a full caseload of Court of Protection welfare matters, providing clear legal advice, excellent client care and effective communication when working with vulnerable clients and key stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to support wider Community Care, Housing and Public Law work where required, including handling correspondence, negotiations and advocacy, while ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements. The role will also involve maintaining accurate case management, keeping up to date with legal developments and assisting with supervision and administrative processes where appropriate. Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives with at least 1 year’s experience in Court of Protection welfare law, including experience acting for “P” via litigation friends or family members in proceedings. Knowledge of Legal Aid funding and CCMS is required, while experience of privately funded work would be advantageous, alongside excellent written, oral and telephone communication skills. On offer is a competitive salary of circa £45,000 depending on experience, a bonus scheme, structured career development programme, 25 days’ holiday increasing to 28 days after three years and 30 days after five years, health cashback plan, length of service awards and a range of wellbeing initiatives.
